In order for you to take your place alongside these fine fellows and gallant gals and strut your stuff upon our stage there are various things that need to happen.
(1) You must first take a look at our up-coming season and pick a play or two that take your fancy.
(2) You have to attend an audition, usually at the Old Court Theatre. Strangely enough details of these can be found on our Auditions page. Members of the society receive a monthly newsletter and E-mails to remind them of approaching audition dates - but this doesn't mean that they are any more likely to be cast than new faces (read our audition policy on the audition page!) All our directors are really nice people who will get in touch with you personally after an audition to let you know how fabulous you were, even if they don't cast you.
(3) The director of your chosen show is so impressed with your enthusiasm that they cast you. We have frequently cast new members in lead roles as well as supporting ones. Energy and enthusiasm are usually the most important factors affecting the director's casting decisions.
(4) You accept the role and join up. Up until now the whole auditioning process has been fun and free, sadly from here on in you must join the society. There is a small yearly fee
Of course you don't have to do things in this order. Anyone is welcome to join the society - and begin recieving newsletters and audition reminders at any time. (please complete a membership application)
